Description

Taste Story

This fruity natural lot from Bombe Village area farmers is an amazing representation of Ethiopian coffee. It starts with a berry sweetness and a full mouthfeel. Think of your favorite berry jam. As it opens up you’ll be reminded of those old school orange slice candies, sticky and sweet. As it cools you’ll find a lighter body with stone fruit sensations.

Processing Journey

Once the cherries arrive at the local washing station they are floated to remove defective cherries. The cherries are then placed on raised drying beds for 17-20 days. During the first two days the cherries are rotated by hand every hour to avoid uneven drying; and to give them consistent exposure to sunlight and air.

Farmer Profile

Small lot farmers from the Bombe Village, at the base of the Bombe mountains, deliver their hand harvested coffee to the Shantawene Washing Station. These smalllot farmers are the life force of Ethiopian coffee that has allowed roasters like us to bring amazing coffee to our local communities. Many of these farmers typically intercrop their coffee plants with other food crops to maximize land use, and to feed their families. Farming is a vital undertaking for these farmers that we honor with thoughtful roasting practices.
