It's both of these producers' first year working with Unblended, and while we had originally only planned on purchasing Juan David's fully washed Pink Bourbon, the folks at Unblended decided to blend 15% of a washed Gesha from Rogelio Diaz into it in order to improve cup score and get a higher price at export for both lots. Greater than the sum of its parts, this coffee represents the inherently collaborative nature of coffee production and export, and the many steps it takes for it to get to our doorsteps. In the cup, we find sweet and tart blue-raspberry candy, a classic PB "pink lemonade" note, and our favorite Gesha floral: apple blossom.
