Rio Brilhante is the work of Inácio Carlos Urban, a producer who arrived in Cerrado Mineiro in the 1980s with little experience in coffee but a strong instinct for experimentation. What began as a small planting has grown into a large, highly organized farm, now operated alongside his children, second generation producers who continue to refine the farm’s direction.

Despite its scale, the approach remains precise. Soil health is monitored regularly, inputs are adjusted based on data, and variety selection is deliberate, balancing cup quality with resilience in a region defined by heat and seasonal dryness.

Aramosa sits at the center of that thinking. Developed in Brazil as a cross between Coffea arabica and Coffea racemosa, it was selected for drought resistance and naturally low caffeine, around half that of typical arabica. The variety thrives at mid-elevations on the farm and is handled with care, often hand-sorted and slowly dried to preserve clarity and structure.

The result is a coffee that reflects both intent and environment: resilient by design, measured in process, and quietly expressive in the cup.
