About the farm
Yelnoorkhan translates to “the forest with seven streams”—a fitting name for an estate shaped by dense forests, flowing water and the dramatic terrain of the Western Ghats. During the monsoon, a 100-foot natural waterfall comes alive within the estate.
Rising to elevations of up to 5,300 feet above MSL, Yelnoorkhan produces some of India’s most distinctive high-grown coffees. The estate has a long history of recognition, winning the Fine Cup Award for six consecutive years from 2003 to 2008. Its coffees also reached North American markets under the Yelnoorkhan Mist name in the early 2000s.
Established in the early 1900s and taken over by Kelachandra Coffee in 2021, the estate lies close to Mullayanagiri, Karnataka’s highest peak. Its steep, demanding terrain continues to make careful handpicking essential—a tradition that remains deeply connected to Indian coffee cultivation.
Today, Yelnoorkhan brings together more than a century of coffee-growing heritage, remarkable elevation and a deep respect for the land, producing single-origin coffees that carry a distinct expression of their provenance.

This is our first coffee from Yelnoorkhan Estate, and a collaboration we’re excited to begin. With a coffee-growing history stretching back more than a century, Yelnoorkhan represents a side of Indian coffee we have always valued — high-elevation growing, careful picking and a strong connection to traditional washed coffees.
While fermentation-led processing continues to open up new possibilities, we’ve never lost our love for the clarity and structure of a great washed cup. This Anaerobic Washed Chandragiri brings the two worlds together. A controlled fermentation adds a contemporary dimension, while the washed process keeps the coffee clean and composed.
