Our first trip to Peru last year opened a new chapter in how we see Peruvian coffee — thanks to José “Pepe” Rivera of Origin Coffee Lab. Pepe’s commitment to championing Peruvian specialty coffee not only led us to Merci Fernández, but also to his family’s farm, La Palestina, in San José del Alto.

Shared by Pepe and his extended family, La Palestina is a living ecosystem as much as a coffee farm. Each family member tends their own plot with a shared spirit of curiosity and care. Beneath the soil, mycelium networks enrich biodiversity, creating ideal conditions for exceptional coffee.

This washed-process Gesha is only the second harvest from La Palestina — a delicate, elegant cup that highlights the varietal’s natural fruit notes.

Expect a light, floral profile with notes of hibiscus and lemonade — expressive, refined, and full of promise.
