Farm and Producer
Jenaro Burbano is a third-generation coffee grower at Buena Vista, a 3.5-hectare farm in Las Chinas, San Agustín. He began his own planting with his father's help in 1978, after working as a picker in northern Huila.
Jenaro later joined the Los Naranjos association and now works with Monkaaba and Semilla to develop direct relationships and feedback for his individually identified lots.
Variety
Pink Bourbon is a pink-ripening Arabica selection associated with Colombian specialty coffee. Genetic testing of coffees sold under this name has found Ethiopian ancestry, so the name alone does not establish a Bourbon cross or a uniform genetic identity.
Processing
Freshly depulped coffee is added to tiled fermentation tanks over three days with small additions of water. The accumulated lot is washed once, drained in bags for two hours, and then dried for approximately 15 days in an Elda rooftop dryer.
