About Habtamu Fekadu Aga
This coffee comes from outgrowers delivering to Habtamu Fekadu Aga's Goro washing station in Uraga, Guji. Habtamu took over the station in 2020 and installed a Penagos pulper in 2022. The station brings smallholder cherry deliveries together for sorting, pulping, fermentation, and drying.
Variety
Kurume and Dega are regional Ethiopian landrace names. Such names describe locally recognized coffee populations and do not provide the same precise identification as a numbered research selection. Their expression also depends on the growing site and processing.
Processing
At Goro, washed preparation begins with sorting and pulping the cherries. Fermentation helps release the remaining mucilage before the coffee is washed and dried on raised beds. Turning and moisture checks help the parchment dry evenly.
