Farm and Producer
This Gesha combines two selections from the Peterson family's Hacienda La Esmeralda: Manantial 5NC from Jaramillo and Montaña 5BANC from Cañas Verdes. The lots are listed at 1,900 and 1,800 meters, respectively.
Jaramillo and Cañas Verdes have different growing environments within Boquete. Jaramillo is known for cool, wet conditions, while Cañas Verdes has a more pronounced dry season.
Variety
Gesha, also spelled Geisha, is an Arabica variety with Ethiopian origins. It is valued for high cup-quality potential and floral aromatics, especially under suitable high-elevation growing conditions. Its expression also depends on cultivation, processing, and roasting.
Processing
Both components were prepared as naturals, with the seeds dried inside the whole coffee cherry before the dried fruit was removed. The final coffee brings the two farm selections together in one blend.
