Elida Estate, Lot Plano
Elida Estate is part of Lamastus Family Estates in Alto Quiel, Boquete, in Panama’s Chiriquí highlands. The Lamastus family has grown coffee here since 1918. The estate lies partly within Volcán Barú National Park, with coffee growing among volcanic soils and surrounding native cloud forest.
Lot Plano is listed at 1,800 masl. Elida’s volcanic soils, cool nights, and surrounding cloud forest provide the growing conditions for this Gesha selection.
Variety
Gesha, also spelled Geisha, is an Arabica variety with Ethiopian origins. Panamanian Gesha is valued for its high cup-quality potential at altitude and often shows delicate floral and stone-fruit aromatics. Cultivation, harvest, processing, and roasting all shape how those characteristics appear in the final cup.
Processing
ASD means Anaerobic Slow Dry. For this T2D natural lot, the whole cherries undergo two days of fermentation in a sealed tank before slow drying. The closed tank limits oxygen exposure, while the extended drying stage gradually removes moisture from the whole fruit.
Anaerobic fermentation and natural drying can influence fruit intensity, sweetness, and texture.
