Farm and Producer
Enrique Pretel grows coffee in Boquete, Panama, and supplies cherries to Creativa Coffee District for processing. His six-hectare property has about 7,000 coffee trees, with local workers helping during the harvest. This Gesha selection is listed at 1,700 meters.
Variety
Gesha, also spelled Geisha, is an Arabica variety with Ethiopian origins. It is valued for high cup-quality potential and floral aromatics, especially under suitable high-elevation growing conditions. Its expression also depends on cultivation, processing, and roasting.
Processing
CCD’s Splash preparation begins by depulping ripe cherries. The coffee then undergoes a short aerobic fermentation of 24–48 hours with added lactic acid bacteria before a washed finish and drying. The process is kept separate from CCD’s whole-cherry natural preparations.
