Malaki Estate was founded in 1959 by Edward Marigi and is now managed by his wife, Florence, and his daughter, Jessica. Their historic family-run farm is one of the few that adheres to growing only Kenyan coffee varietals (SL-28, SL-34) while also cultivating macadamias and avocados.
This coffee is processed in traditional washing methods: cherry is pulped and fermented for 36-48 hours before being thoroughly washed and moved onto raised drying beds where it is turned regularly over approximately 14 days to achieve the target moisture.
We find this coffee to be dense and juicy with high fruit notes of ruby grapefruit, raspberry, and lemon-lime soda.
