About the Producers
Habtamu Fikadu Aga, also known as Kuri Mountain Coffee, was founded in 2015 by Aaga Dinsa. Aaga inherited his grandfather's, a farmer in Kuri Kebele, farm. Habtamu Fikadu Aga is comprised of 144 farmers spanning 837 hecatres of land in Kuri Kebele. The farm remains an export hub for the operation. The company owns washing stations across Wolega, Guji, and Jimma, where the farmers deliver their cherry. Chelbesa is a famous coffee growing region in Ethiopia, where coffee grows alongside local crops, native shade trees, and volcanos.
What makes this coffee stand out
Yirgacheffe is one of the world's most celebrated coffee regions. Here, native Ethiopia heirloom varieties thrive. The high elevation (above 1700 meters above sea level) contribute to the juicy and sweet characteristics of the coffee due to slower cherry maturation. Coffees from Yirgacheffe are often floral and fruity, sometimes boasting the famous "blueberry" tasting note, like this one. What also stands out is the delecate, tea-like body attributed to almost all Ethiopian heirloom coffees. Chelbesa is a famous coffee growing region in Ethiopia, where coffee grows alongside local crops, native shade trees, and volcanos.
