How "Just landed" is made

finca checks every roaster's own shop once a night, around 04:30 UTC. "First seen" is the time of the check that first found a coffee, not the roaster's release time: a coffee released at noon appears after the next night's check.

New — a coffee finca's nightly check found for the first time. Now on sale — a coffee finca had only seen marked sold out or coming soon, now on sale. Back on sale — a coffee finca saw on sale before, then sold out, now on sale again. New at a reused address — the roaster put a different coffee (a new name) at an address it used before; finca lists it as new, never as back on sale.

Left out: a roaster's first 14 days (when finca starts checking a roaster, everything it already sells is its starting catalogue, not new); coffees the web archive saw on the roaster's site in the 365 days before finca's check first found them; coffees the roaster had already listed under exactly the same name at another address in the previous 180 days (a moved or duplicated listing, not a new coffee); unusually large batches from one check (more than 15 coffees, and more than 20% of what that check saw) — usually a change in how finca reads the shop, not a release; and anything that is not one specific coffee: subscriptions, gift cards, equipment, samplers, rotating "roaster's choice" coffees.

Each row's own state — on sale, sold out, no longer listed, or not recently confirmed — and the "On sale now" filter both come from finca's one shared availability rule, the same rule every product and roaster page reads (see Reading the pages). It is never re-worked out separately here.

Sold out means the roaster's page said sold out during 2 complete checks in a row; "sold out by" gives the first of them, so the coffee sold out at some point before that check, not at that moment. A coffee that reads sold out for one night and is back the next makes no entry at all. A check that could not read the whole shop never marks anything sold out, and a coffee that simply disappears is not called sold out.

Is it the same coffee? finca compares names as sets of words, ignoring capitals, accents and words like "sold out", "new" or "limited": it is the same coffee when at least 50% of the words are shared and no harvest year changed.

Prices are per 100 g in US dollars at that day's exchange rate, before shipping and tax. Tasting notes are the roaster's words.

What's a feed?

Every place, varietal and roaster page has one, and so does every "Just landed" filter: the feed address is that page's own address with feed/ added at the end. A feed's entries are the same new coffees and restocks "Just landed" lists, checked nightly — nothing more.
